Alappuzha - Alappuzha

The trip starts from Alappuzha takes you through the narrow canals between the long green carpeted rice fields and coconut lagoons. The peacefulness of villages will give you a first hand to know about the fascinating local life. Travellers can perceive the flashes of toddy tapping (Coconut Beer), traditional techniques of the shellfish gathering, village walk, and different species of birds…Visit Chavara Bhavan - the old wooden house where the blessed Kuriakose Elias Chavara was born. Visit a traditional wooden house 'Nalukettu', Champakkulam Church- St. Mary's Forane Church (AD 427), Kalloorkkadu Market, Champakkulam Village - view the 110 feet long Snake boat. Night stay in the middle of the Vattakaayal (lake). Morning after breakfast trip proceeds to Alappuzha.

 

Alappuzha - Kumarakom

Cruise through the Punnamada Lake - the venue of the famous Nehru Trophy Snake Boat Race. This backwater cruise is considered to be one of the major attractions of the land of Freshwaters. The narrow canals take you between the wide range of Green rice fields and the rustic areas covered with the gorgeous green of the fringed palms.  Visit the R' Block, C' Block, Pathiramanal island - night stay at Kumarakom Lake. Travellers can get the enlightening of toddy tapping, shellfish gatherers, and village walk, bird sanctuary (Kumarakom). Morning after breakfast drop at Kumarakom.

 

Alappuzha - Kottayam

A cruise that links two district headquarters. Glide across the Punnamada lake -  the venue of the famous Nehru Trophy Snake Boat Race, take in the fascinating life along the banks. Enjoy the panoramic views of paddy fields, narrow canals and coconut lagoons. Pass by R-block, C'Block  observe how paddy is cultivated by the help of dykes several feet below the sea level. Have a long, enjoyable break from the routine. At Sunset the boat moors for the night, allowing local fishermen to move about undisturbed by tourist vessels. Night stay at Vembanad Lake. Alappuzha - Thottappally

Glide along from Alappuzha through Punnamada lake. Admire the old traditional houses on the banks - visit the Chavara Bhavan (Birth place of Kuriakose Elias Chavara) - admire duck farming, stop by at Triveni. Visit the Ambalappuzha Sree Krishna Temple, Church at Champakkulam(St. Mary's Forane Church - AD 427) - view the 110 feet long Snake boat - 11th century Buddha granite (Karumadikuttan) - have the time of your life - serene, quiet and easy. Night stay at Thottapally Lake. Morning after breakfast drop at Thottapally.

 

Alappuzha - Alumkadavu (2 nts.)

The most fascinating and enjoyable route available. Cruise through the Punnamada lake. Admire the old Chavara Bhavan (Birth place of Kuriakose Elias Chavara)  - traditional wooden house ' Nalukettu' -  enjoy panoramic views of long green carpeted rice fields and coconut lagoons... Visit the ancient Champakkulam church (St. Mary's Forane Church - AD 427) - view the 110 feet long Snake boat - visit the historic Ambalappuzha Sree Krishna  temple and the ancient Buddhist image ( Karumadikkuttan) of the 11th century. Night stay at Thottapally.  At Kumarakody Memorial recall the celebrated Malayalam poet Kumaranaashaan who drowned there. Enjoy the view of Chinese fishing nets at Kayamkulam Pozhy. Cruise through Alumkadavu lake...Visit India's most famous living woman saint Matha Amrithanandamayi. Drop by at the Coir village, observe the processes that go into making coir. Night stay at Kayamkulam Lake. Morning after breakfast drop at Alumkadavu.

 

Alappuzha - Kollam (2 nts.)

Check in Alappuzha - cruise through Punnamada Lake - visit R' Block, C' Block - visit the Chavara Bhavan, olden wooden house - enjoy the panoramic view of paddy fields, narrow canals and coconut lagoons - visit the 400 year old ancient church - view the 110 feet long snake boat - Visit the ancient Champakkulam church (St. Mary's Forane Church - AD 427) - view the 110 feet long Snake boat - visit the historic Ambalappuzha Sree Krishna  temple and the ancient Buddhist image ( Karumadikkuttan) of the 11th century. Cruise through Kayamkulam Lake - visit Vallickavu Amrithanadhamayi Ashram - visit the coir village. Night halt at Ashtamudi Lake. Check out at Kollam.

 

Alappuzha - Kochi (2 nts.)
